Support Volunteer

A Support Volunteer is someone who helps with tasks to coordinate and organise the Dojo and its communications.

North Offaly CoderDojo is a voluntary coding club for young people in our local community. We’re part of a global movement called CoderDojo, whose mission is to provide children worldwide with new skills and opportunities by helping them learn to code for free in a fun, sociable, and creative environment.

As we start our new term, we are looking for a Support Volunteer. A Support Volunteer is someone who helps with tasks to coordinate and organise the Dojo and its communications.

Tasks:

  • Promote Dojo sessions locally

  • Communicate updates with parents and guardians of young people, through email and social media

  • Help to organise the session space and equipment

  • Post on social media to promote the Dojo, member’s achievements and upcoming events and sessions

Skills needed:

  • Basic computer skills

  • Good English

  • Access to a computer/laptop and an internet connection

  • Previous experience with Freshdesk or another CRM a bonus but not essential.

The Dojo hosts sessions every week on Thursdays from 6:00PM to 7:00PM. This Dojo usually runs during regular primary school term time, taking a break for holidays and the middle of term.

This is an unpaid volunteer role.
